Perioperative Theatre Tech
The Perioperative Theatre Technology course at KIBS Technical College equips students with critical surgical support skills required in operating theatres. Learners gain hands-on experience to support surgeons, nurses, and theatre teams in medical procedures.
Introduction to Perioperative Theatre Technology
Students learn practical skills related to operating theatre procedures, patient preparation, sterile techniques, and surgical assistance. The course prepares graduates to work confidently in hospital theatres and surgical units.
Course Content
Students will gain practical knowledge and skills in:
• Operating theatre procedures and workflow
• Patient preparation before, during, and after surgery
• Sterilization, infection control, and theatre safety
• Surgical instruments identification and handling
• Assisting surgeons and theatre nurses during procedures
• Theatre equipment setup and maintenance
• Aseptic techniques and hygiene standards
• Ethical practices and professional conduct in theatre settings
• KCSE Certificate (Any grade)
• KCPE Certificate accepted
• Ability to read and write
• Interest in healthcare and surgical support services
3 – 6 Months (Depending on study mode)
