Community Development & Social Work
The Community Development and Social Work course at KIBS Technical College equips students with practical skills to support communities, promote social welfare, and drive sustainable development initiatives.
Introduction to Community Development and Social Work
Students learn practical skills such as community engagement, social research, project implementation, and advocacy. The course prepares graduates to work in NGOs, community organizations, government programs, and social development initiatives. Graduates also gain the confidence to lead and support community-based projects.
Course Content
Students will gain practical knowledge and skills in:
• Principles of community development and social work
• Community mobilization and participation
• Social research and needs assessment
• Project planning, implementation, and evaluation
• Social welfare programs and advocacy
• Gender, youth, and vulnerable group support
• Ethics and professionalism in social work
• Monitoring, reporting, and documentation
• KCSE Certificate (Any grade)
• KCPE Certificate accepted
• Ability to read and write
• Interest in community development and social impact
3 – 6 Months (Depending on study mode)
